Szilvi Lubics finished first in the Grand to Grand Ultra, a 275-kilometer running race held in the barren desert of the USA.
Pushing the limits of human performance requires not only endurance, but also mental strength.
And this is especially true in the world of ultra running: long distances, barren landscapes and extreme conditions await those brave athletes who undertake this challenge. The Grand to Grand Ultra is one such race, where the participants face not only the distance, but also the weather conditions. Here, the wonderful Szilvi Lubics achieved outstanding success, winning a fantastic victory.
Szilvi Lubics won the Grand to Grand Ultra running race with an incredible performance, successfully completing the 275-kilometer challenge in the barren desert of the United States.
The extreme race consisted of six stages, during which the contestants had to fight their way through the beautiful but cruel landscapes of Arizona and Utah, from the Grand Canyon to Bryce Canyon.
Szilvi struggled not only with the distance, but also with the weather conditions:
he ran in the heat of the day and rested in a tent in a simple sleeping bag at night.
During the competition, he had to carry everything with him - he carried his equipment in a backpack during the week-long trial.
In the end, he finished with an overall time of 45 hours and 32 minutes, more than an hour ahead of the second-placed French rider. The other Hungarian competitor, Miklós Roskovics, also performed excellently, finishing in 6th place.
