A radical change is needed in Europe, the group reminds.

We only support commissioner candidates who fully respect national sovereignty and who serve the radical change demanded by the people of Europe, the Fidesz-KDNP European Parliament group stated in a statement on Monday in connection with the fact that the European Parliament has started hearing the European Commission's commissioner candidates.

The EU parliamentary group of the Fidesz-KDNP announced that the Hungarian members of the Hungarian national delegation of the Patriots for Europe faction will participate in all hearings and ask questions to the candidates.

As members of the Patriots for Europe faction, in accordance with the will expressed by European citizens in the European Parliament elections, we take the clear position that a radical change is needed in Europe, they said.

It was highlighted: Europe is in trouble: the continuous escalation of the war in Ukraine threatens with unforeseeable dangers, the European Union "does not want to order a stop" to illegal migration, which also faces serious competitiveness challenges.

The commissioner candidates must serve the turnaround expected by European citizens - underlined the statement of the group, according to which the MEPs expect the future commissioners not to follow the "anti-democratic practice of the left-liberal majority" of the European Parliament and to act with the "cordon sanitaire" , i.e. against the policy of isolation.

The commissioner candidates must guarantee that they treat the member states as partners and not as adversaries, and that they fully respect national sovereignty, emphasized the Fidesz-KDNP.
