Donald Trump won a landslide victory in the US presidential election, which was not only against Kamala Harris, but also symbolized the triumph of common sense and normality over liberal aggression. According to Miklós Szánthó, Director General of the Center for Fundamental Rights, Trump's return will have a significant impact on domestic and foreign policy, as well as relations between Hungary and the USA.

The new presidential term of Donald Trump is not only a political victory, but the victory of common sense and normality over liberal aggression and woke madness, said Miklós Szánthó in his interview with Origo . The director general of the Center for Fundamental Rights emphasized that Trump not only defeated Kamala Harris, but also ideas that threaten the American dream and social values. Trump's victory could mean a long-term change in direction, not only in America, but also in world politics.

According to the director general, Trump's victory clearly shows that the majority of people reject the dominance of the liberal media and the woke movements.

American democracy has almost risen from its ashes

- said Szánthó, pointing out that the voters chose Trump despite strong left-wing pressure.

Miklós Szánthó also touched on the fact that the assassinations and attempts against Trump only further strengthened the support of the former president.

The assassinations and attacks against Trump clearly proved in the eyes of many that he is fighting for his truth against the tide. Trump's fight, present in the judiciary, the cultural scene and the political arena, gives him credibility in the eyes of the people.

According to Szánthó, following Trump's victory, a new chapter may open in Hungarian-American relations. The director general noted that the value-based alliance between the two countries could further strengthen, since under the Trump administration, the United States is expected to respect Hungary's sovereignty and reject ideological interference in its internal affairs.

In the interview, the Director General explained that Trump's victory supports the values of the nation-state and traditional cultural traditions, which are a common basis for Hungary and the American right.

Regarding the war in Ukraine, Szánthó believes that Trump's victory can offer an opportunity to create peace. Trump's interest-based policy goes against the often ideologically based approach of the Democrats, and he would be willing to initiate peace talks. According to Szánthó, in the person of Trump, we see a leader who is able to make decisive decisions and is not willing to obey ideological constraints.

According to the Director General, Trump could bring positive change through three main factors: his business acumen, his leadership skills and his loyalty to his promises can guarantee the achievement of peace in Ukraine.

Miklós Szánthó concluded that Trump's victory also means hope for Hungary, as the current American administration can create a country that puts its own interests first and does not try to ideologically influence the internal politics of other nations.
