The Hungarian national football team lost 4-0 in the fifth round of the Nations League as a guest of the Dutch team, a semi-finalist at the summer European Championship.
With Saturday's defeat in Amsterdam - and the resounding failure of the Bosnians - it was decided that the national team, which had not won against the Netherlands in forty years, would finish in third place in the group. This means that in March it will be forced to play with one of the runners-up in Division B, and in December it will certainly be drawn from the second hat for the World Cup qualifying series.
The match was overshadowed by the fact that the pitch coach Ádám Szalai fell ill in the sixth minute, as a result of which the game was stopped for more than ten minutes. The condition of the former team captain was stabilized and he was taken to an Amsterdam hospital.
Federal captain Marco Rossi introduced a new team by substituting Levente Szabó.
The Hungarians will host the group winners Germany in the Puskás Arena in the final round on Tuesday.
