József Horváth confirmed: the ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System) is a high-precision missile, very effective, and plays a prominent role among American weapons. It is suitable for carrying a nearly two-ton warhead, so it can cause great destruction.
- Mainly used against military targets. According to Zelensky's previous promises, he would target the Russian airports from which the Russian bombers take off, but in the current tight military situation, this cannot be considered certain, emphasized József Horváth.
By attacking a military target, you can destroy planes worth tens of millions of dollars or even destroy the take-off infrastructure. However, with these missile systems, it is always inherent that if they are poorly programmed or misguided, they will not hit the target.
The expert also pointed out that if the operating personnel are not professional - and the Ukrainians are not, because they could not be trained to use these weapons at a skill level, he adds - then there is the possibility that even by accident, but civilians targets are hit.
If that were the case, the Russians would simply have to answer that - said József Horváth.
In addition, it is also important that the ATACMS missiles can be operated based on satellite information, which according to the Russian side is managed by the Americans, because the Ukrainians do not understand it, thus Putin can even declare the Americans a belligerent party
- I think that this makes the Russian-Ukrainian war situation completely unpredictable, concluded József Horváth.
