"In the United States, the president who was voted out of power, removed by his own party, whose capacities are questioned by many, and who is leaving office in two months, makes decisions that lead to a worldwide catastrophe," the minister writes in his post.

The most dangerous two months of the past decades are ahead of us, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade announced on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

Péter Szijjártó wrote on his social media page that "in the United States, the president who was voted out of power, removed by his own party, whose capacities are questioned by many, and who is leaving office in two months, makes decisions that have a worldwide impact they lead to disaster".

He continued by saying that with the victory of Donald Trump, Europe was given a huge chance to restore peace on the continent, but quite a few people do not want this, and there are such people on both sides of the ocean.

"They, members of the pro-war political elite, have launched a desperate scramble to turn the war in Ukraine into a world war. Because let's be clear: authorizing the deployment of American weapons against deep Russian territories poses a world war risk. And if this happens, we may lose everything," said Péter Szijjártó.
