The Advent fundraising program of the Catholic Caritas has begun.
Open your hearts! The purpose of the campaign is twofold: on the one hand, they want to sneak the holiday into the lives of those in need, and on the other hand, they encourage charity, the organization announced.
Gábor Écsy, the national director of Katolikus Karitász, emphasized: it is important to direct our attention to our neighbors and those who live alone, and to provide concrete help.
"It's worth donating with open eyes and an open heart," he added.
He reported that, in addition to the continuous non-perishable food collection, a variety of charity events are organized throughout the country during the winter.
On the One Million Stars solidarity day for the poor, candles are handed out in exchange for a donation, and in the Angel Bat sale, anyone can make a personalized gift package for children with a difficult fate and drop it off at one of the national collection points until the middle of December. In addition, a large-scale Christmas concert will be organized in the Szent István Basilica to help children in need, the director listed.
Those interested can join the Christmas fundraising program of Katolikus Karitász in several ways: by calling the donation line 1356, they can support the work of the organization with HUF 500, they can contribute any amount by donating online, and through the diocesan charity centers and the announced collection points, a local program can be supported in material or with a monetary donation.
