On October 25, 2024, the European Union Council for Civil Cooperation (EuCET) and the organizations cooperating with it, the "Patriotic spiritual defenders for Europe!" within the framework of the V. international conference organized under the title, they examined the challenges affecting the European continent and reached a common position on the goals of the action plan for the future of the European Union and their implementation. Europe's awakening has irreversibly begun. More and more people are raising their voices and calling for change. The European Union Civil Cooperation Council, as an international patriotic NGO representing nearly two-thirds of the EU's member states, has decided to be an active part of this historic task - emphasized in his presentation on our jointly represented interests, Jr. Zoltán Lomnici.
In view of the shocking and tragic war conflicts of our time, it is first of all our moral duty to remind that the cradle of the European Union arose from the desire for peace. The founding fathers clearly formulated the intention and goal of peace as the foundation of European integration. This value is still an essential element of the union, which not only created the European community, but also serves as a prerequisite and pledge for its successful future. That is why it is the moral (and historical) duty of the European Union to contribute with all possible means to avoid the escalation of the war affecting the continent and to establish peace as soon as possible. After all, only in a stable and peaceful Europe can the European values, which we believe must be protected and nurtured, be realized.
Based on our belief, these values to be protected include, above all, patriotism, that is, the idea of a deep and sacred commitment to the nation, which as a solid foundation encourages citizens to make sacrifices for their national community. According to what we believe, the homeland is not just a geographical place, but the altar of identity, honor and common ideals, and the strength and (successful) future of a nation lies in the loyalty of its citizens. We firmly believe that (strong) nations cannot exist without patriotism, and the European Union cannot exist without nations.
In our view, it is closely related to patriotism, its quasi-precondition is the idea of national sovereignty and popular sovereignty, that is, the principle of people's self-determination and the independence of states free from external influence. These values cannot exist without each other, since while the former provides the political framework in which popular sovereignty can be realized, the sovereignty of a state legitimately exists only if it originates from the will of the people.
That is why we unwaveringly believe that respect for the idea of nation-state sovereignty and popular sovereignty on the part of the European Union is an indispensable condition not only for the freedom of the member states, but also for the survival of the community, which must prevail at all times during the operation and decision-making of the union. All of this means, on the one hand, that the will and interest of EU citizenship and European civil society cannot be ignored or overridden on the basis of political considerations determined by the decision-makers. On the other hand, it expresses that the rights and powers of nation-states cannot be unreasonably limited or withdrawn in the absence of express legitimate authority to do so.
At the same time, the idea of sovereignty as a value to be protected is also manifested in the economic field. In our opinion, strong, independent economies are the key to the well-being not only of individual nations, but of Europe as a whole. Europe and its nations can only remain competitive if they are able to operate their economies according to their own interests, free from external influences, whether ideological or power-related.
EuCET and its partner organizations also agree that the history, traditions and culture of every European nation are valuable in themselves, and therefore the European Union must respect the diverse national identities of its member states. Different national identities do not weaken, but on the contrary, strengthen our community.
We believe that the national identity of the states that make up Europe - and also our common European culture - have merged with the Judeo-Christian values that shaped the moral and spiritual foundations of our continent for centuries. These values provide the framework in which European peoples can live in peace and cooperation.
According to our conscience, we proclaim that the traditional family based on the marriage of a man and a woman is not only the cornerstone of the nation, but of the entire European community, and at the same time the guarantee of its future. The Union can only remain strong and prosperous if it supports families and protects Judeo-Christian family values, thereby guaranteeing that future generations can grow up in a stable society.
Finally, we are determined that employee advocacy based on Christian-conservative foundations, which focuses on the rights of employees, recognizes the value and dignity of work, the importance of community responsibility, and the principle of social justice, is the basis for the stability and development of the European community.
However, according to the point of view of EuCET and the organizations cooperating with it, the European Union in its current form has turned away from these - in our opinion, eternal - values.
The EU institutions and their non-directly elected left-liberal leaders:
• instead of protecting the sovereignty of the nation-state, in federalist efforts that intend to abolish the self-determination of the member states;
• serving the interests of global big capital instead of respecting the idea of popular sovereignty;
• instead of preserving the national identity of the constituent states, in advocating the policy of multiculturalism and open borders, which has unforeseeable consequences in terms of public safety, economic, cultural and social cohesion, i.e. encouraging unregulated migration;
• last but not least, instead of protecting the fundamentals that have defined the European continent for more than a thousand years, including the institution of the traditional family, they see their task and goal in the unconditional support of the LGBTQ lobby and gender ideology, which threaten the healthy physical, mental and moral development of our children.
However, Europe's awakening has irreversibly begun.
More and more people are raising their voices and calling for change. The European Union Civil Cooperation Council, as an international patriotic NGO representing nearly two-thirds of the EU's member states, decides to be an active part of this historic task. He undertakes that he will do everything he can through his intellectual work with a positive intention and through the legal means of civil action to ensure that the European Union finds its way back to the "Europe of Nation States" concept, which is the foundation of the cooperation of equal, sovereign nation-states. It does all this in the interest of civil society and based on the responsibility it feels for the future of the generations to come.
