"Never before have I had such a direct and open insight into how the abuse of expert positions in the public, bullying, informal moral pressure and network operations take place". According to Anna Unger, anyone who mentions plagiarism should check their own dissertation and see what the plagiarism checker shows.

"The opponent of Balázs Orbán's doctorate, Anna Unger, associate professor at ELTE, has published a very interesting article," drew the attention of Dániel Deák on his social media page , who also reminds us that he cannot in any way be accused of being pro-government, and is a regular guest, for example, of the Márton Gulyás in a kind of Partisan - observed the Magyar Nemzet.

According to Deák, " that's why it makes me smile to watch Anna Unger realize the functioning of the left-liberal public, which, from András Rácz to Gábor Polyák to the telex scribblers, attacked Balázs Orbán with full force and accused him of lies".

Anna Unger wrote on her social media page

no one has the right to drag the judging panel and question their professional integrity.

"Never before have I had such a direct and open view of how abuse of expert positions in the public, bullying, informal moral pressure and network operations take place. Not just inquiries or sarcastic comments. But the spread of half-information, the combination of ignorance and self-confidence, the spinning of completely unprofessional comments in public and advertising them as truth. And of course the depressing presence of dishonesty and silence, as well as the lack of standing up and sticking to the facts," he stated after Balázs Orbán, the Prime Minister's political director, successfully defended his doctorate at ELTE yesterday.

The scandal broke out in the middle of November, the basis of which was the fact that Gábor Polyák, head of the ELTE department, acting as the money distributor of the outgoing American ambassador, David Pressman, launched a political attack against Balázs Orbán and his doctorate.

Although Balázs Orbán has been repeatedly accused of plagiarism in recent times, Anna Unger and Szentgáli-Tóth Boldizsár, the appointed opponents of ELTE, ultimately found no plagiarism.

Anna Unger writes at length about how the past few weeks have affected her and what attacks she has faced, but at the same time reminds her: "I cannot choose among students according to whom I examine, whose text I criticize, who can participate in an event, whose diploma or degree I can help . As an instructor, I have contracted to be available to any citizen of the university when it comes to exams, diplomas, and degrees. In this case, the only worldview I can consider is fairness, and as part of that, equal treatment.”

Anna Unger continued:

"I have no right to make a difference in treatment based on worldview, political affiliation, positions or any other aspect. I cannot allow myself to enforce more than these two aspects - because I cannot authorize myself to act according to other considerations in certain cases, just because the situation surrounding the person of the student would, according to some, morally require it. Once I do it, I can do it anytime. Tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, anytime, against anyone, along my own exclusive criteria that ignore all external norms and controls. This is what we call arbitrariness.”

"In March as well as in the past few weeks, I was repeatedly faced with the fact that this is not a matter of course for many colleagues. »How could you undertake it?« - I received the questions sometimes in private comments, sometimes in moral value judgments of public posts or letters from readers. Unpleasant comments, sarcastic e-mails, head turns and non-greetings accompanied the spring and the past few weeks. I'll survive, it's no problem, you can endure more than that, training in public and academic environments makes you more resilient over time," wrote the university associate professor, emphasizing that no one has the right to criticize the evaluation committee as a whole, its members separately, and the opponents in particular, drag him along, suspect political influence and fear in connection with their professional criticism, and question their objectivity, human and professional integrity.

Shame on everyone who, as a former or current ELTE citizen, put aside their knowledge and experience and did not stand up for fair and factual information, but only enriched the camp of trolls with a like or a comment.

However, Anna Unger recommends that anyone who mentions plagiarism should upload their own previous publications, especially their dissertation, and see what the plagiarism checker returns. "There will be surprises. And then afterwards it will be worth discussing what is worth and what is not worth a PhD degree," argued the university associate professor.

Left-liberal elite: Anna Unger has no excuse

The Facebook post was addressed by Gábor Halmai, a teacher at ELTE, who, by the way, was the chairman of the board of trustees of the Soros Foundation between 2001 and 2004, Mandiner reports.

His comment shows

There is no apology for Anna Unger, because Halmai continues to demand that she be held accountable for why she accepted the opposition assignment.

András Bozóki, the culture minister of the first Gyurcsány government, also felt that he had to speak to the post. According to him, Balázs Orbán represents an autocratic system, which is why Unger should not have participated in the evaluation of his doctorate.
