Tamás Till was buried.

The fate of the boy from Baja kept his family in uncertainty for two and a half decades. He disappeared in May 2000, and after 24 years his body was found by the police in the concrete foundation of a shed in Baja. The child died in a violent way. The farewell to Tamás Till shook family members as well as the town community. The funeral was held on the afternoon of December 5 at the Kiscsávolyi cemetery in Baja.

Saying goodbye to Tamás Till was not only a heartbreaking event for the family and acquaintances, but also caused considerable media interest. At the ceremony held at the Kiscsávoly cemetery, a large number of press staff were represented.

Parish priest Tibor Szakács led the ceremony with touching words, emphasizing that there are moments in life when we cannot look for answers.

"We lived in uncertainty for many years, and even now we will never get a satisfactory answer as to why it happened," he said. Quoting the words of St. Paul, the father reminded us that faith and hope can help us face the inexplicable. As soon as Christ died and rose again, we have hope for eternal life, he said.

In her farewell speech, Zoltánné Stadler emphasized the pain of the family and the compassion of the community.

You can almost feel how death and love touch each other, he said, and then he recalled the day of Tamás Till's disappearance and the parents' struggle for 24 years in the hope of seeing him again. For the family, the tragic turn of the summer meant the crushing of hopes.

- The members of Tomi's family are among us with a broken, rebellious heart, as life has deceived them - said Zoltán Stadler. He added: love and memories can help the family find faith in life again.

Tamás Till was born on July 19, 1989, and would have been 35 years old this year. He was a cheerful, happy child, full of energy and life. Her dream was to grow up to be a forester and take care of wild animals. Between the touching and uplifting moments of the farewell, the mourners shared not only the pain, but also the power of love and memory, which forever connects them to the memory of Tamás. Rest in peace, Tamás Till.

The funeral was attended by Róbert Zsigó, member of the parliament of Baja and its region, and dr. Mayor Bernadett Bari.
