For some, it is unacceptable that they do not speak Slovak in the Highlands and call the Hungarian government a dictator.
"The legal, political and cultural situation of Slovaks in the so-called linguistically mixed areas has long been discriminatory, unconstitutional and unworthy", Hlavné Správy published the statement of the Expert Committee on Slovak-Hungarian Relations.
They claim that the linguistic situation at the expense of the state language in southern Slovakia and the municipal election system are behind them.
Residents who do not speak Hungarian "cannot therefore take part in the management of the public affairs of the village, they cannot manage the schools their children attend, they cannot work in the municipality, the post office, shops, banks, cultural institutions and everywhere where contact with the public is necessary," laments the committee.
Incredible discrimination against residents of Slovak nationality, they write, and then add: under such circumstances, support for the use of the Slovak state language is more necessary than elsewhere.
At the end of the statement, the Hungarian government was also found: "The minority Hungarian politicians have long rejected the use of the state language in southern Slovakia, and the Hungarian government is exceeding the limits of international law in an unprecedented way and
he behaves like a dictator when he intervenes in the process of amending the state language law.”
