Sándor Csányi, chairman of the board of trustees of the Prima Primissima Foundation, greeted the guests on behalf of the board of trustees at the award ceremony of the recognition, which was established twenty-one years ago.

"Once again, we succeeded in awarding people who achieved outstanding performance and outstanding results and contributed to the enrichment of our country's scientific and cultural values, sports successes, education, upbringing and the development of our society," said the chairman of the board of trustees.

Interest in the Prima Primissima is not diminishing, this year a record number of 900 nominations were received - emphasized Sándor Csányi at the gala evening, which was attended by Anikó Lévai, wife of the Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior Sándor Pintér, Minister of Energy Csaba Lantos, as well as János Áder and Pál Schmitt also president of the republic.

The professional bodies, the board of trustees, and the National Association of Entrepreneurs tried to make an objective decision about the awardees and the Prima Primissima - noted the president of the board of trustees, emphasizing that in the past 22 years no one has received an award who did not deserve it.

The moral value of the awards is very important, but it is equally important that the material value of the awards does not decrease in real terms. Therefore, from this year, the amount of the Prima Primissima awards increased from HUF 15 million to HUF 20 million, and the amount of the Prima awards increased from HUF 5 million to HUF 8 million - pointed out Sándor Csányi.

On Friday's gala evening, among others, the previous years' Prima and Prima Primissima awardees, as well as former County Prima awardees, performed.

The purpose of the award, founded in 2003, is to preserve the intellectual achievements of the Hungarian intelligentsia, to promote the development of Hungarian science, art, culture and sports by awarding an honorary title independent of power and politics, which has an unquestionable value in the eyes of the public. Each year, the six-member board of trustees selects three names per category from the nominations received by the foundation that administers the award.

The donor of the amount of money associated with the Prima Primissima Audience Award, also increased to HUF 20 million, is Lídia Sándorné Demján, the widow of Sándor Demján, the founder of Prima Primissima.
