This year, the Herend Porcelánmanufaktúra was the official prize supplier of the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix.
When hearing Herend's name, everyone in the world thinks of the perfect quality luxury porcelain, which is part of Hungary's national image, just like the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix. What will they come up with in Heren in 2025? Attila Simon, Herend Porcelánmanufaktúra Zrt. its CEO revealed.
- The Herend Porcelain Manufactory is not only a successful economic enterprise, but also a leading Hungarian enterprise in building the country's image. And when we talk about building the country's image, of course the Hungarian Formula 1 and its Herend trophies always come up - said Attila Simon, Herendi Porcelánmanufaktúra Zrt. CEO.
"It is a great honor for us that the creative work that Herend represents today is recognized all over the world, and as a result of which the Herend trophies are lifted high by the competitors who finish on the podium every year at the Hungarian race," he added.
He revealed that they have countless ideas and thoughts regarding what the Formula 1 trophy in Herend should look like next year. This work will start soon, plans are ready.
– We have a lot of preparatory work behind us, as we hold numerous consultations with the rights holders about which symbols and colors to display. Whoever will be the winner, in the end only the Herend trophy will be raised to the highest level, he said.
When asked if he had a favorite in the past, he answered: every child of a mother and a father has a favorite, so he is a favorite of all the Formula 1 trophies in Herend so far.
"If something has to be singled out, then those awards are definitely very close to my heart, when the various emblematic buildings of Hungary appeared on the trophy, such as the Parliament Building, the Buda Castle, the Chain Bridge, and the Budapest buildings that are they can also play a decisive role in building the country's image abroad," he added.
When asked if there were any pilots interested in the work at Herend, he revealed that there were several such competitors.
- Sebastien Vettel, who previously considered the Herend trophy to be of great value, once complained at a race why the competitors did not receive prizes from Herend. Since then, it is completely natural that the trophy in a race in Hungary must belong to Herend. But this year's very big surprise man, who spent almost a day in Herend, was Lando Norris, who, as we know, started in this year's race in Hungary wearing a racing helmet painted with the Herend pattern, and got to know the value-creating work that characterizes Herend, he said.
He pointed out that the Norris competition helmet was auctioned off, and the Herend Porcelánfaktúra made a donation to the Hungarian National Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired, who were able to support it with a significant amount.
We are very proud that, within the framework of such a charity event, we were able to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of blind children, noted the CEO.
