Hungarian musical traditions live on and their value does not diminish over time.
One of the best-known female performers of Hungarian operetta was among the first to receive the Dankó Music Award in 2023. For the worthy artist Bori Kállay, the operetta performer's award founded by Dankó Rádió is of particular importance, he shared in the program of the M5 cultural channel.
During his career, Bori Kállay proved his talent in many memorable roles, and from the beginning he devotedly represented the genre of operetta.
For him, the Dankó Music Award is not only an individual recognition, but also proof that Hungarian musical traditions live on and that their value does not diminish over time.
"I have an important place in my heart for the Dankó Rádió award, as I was the first to receive it in my category. I am grateful that, in addition to folk music, genres such as operetta, Hungarian nota or gypsy music, as well as their representatives, have been receiving worthy recognition since last year."
- said Bori Kállay as a guest of the M5 cultural channel's show Libretto, emphasizing the importance of the award.
December 9 - the Dankó Music Awards are presented for the second time, in addition to the genre awards, two artists are also recognized with a lifetime achievement award. According to Bori Kállay, this event is of great importance not only for the awardees, but also for the Hungarian musical heritage.
"The award is proof that these genres are alive and worthy of attention," said the artist.
The gala promises a special experience: the audience can enjoy the performances of Rezső Soltész, István Mikó, György Ferenczi, Simon Boglárka, Gábor Jenei and the Vujicsics ensemble, as well as the new award winners, and this year's winning song of the Magyarnótája-voting started by Hungarian Music Radio will also be played. The hosts of the evening will be the presenters of Dankó Rádió, Beatrix Budai and Zoltán Gaál.
