The US president-elect expressed his long-awaited thoughts on the events in Syria.
As is known, the Assad regime has fallen in Syria, which Donald Trump did not leave without a word, which is also important because from his words we can already infer the agreements that usually take place in secret during similar crisis periods.
"Assad is finished, he fled his country. His protector, Russia, led by Vladimir Putin, was no longer interested in protecting him.
Russia had no reason to be there in the first place. They have lost all interest in Syria because of Ukraine, where nearly 600,000 Russian soldiers lie wounded or dead in a war that should never have started and could continue indefinitely. Russia and Iran are weakened, one because of Ukraine and the bad economy, the other because of Israel and its military successes," Trump writes on the Truth Social platform, then added:
"Similarly, Zelensky and Ukraine want to come to an agreement and end the madness.
They lost 400,000 soldiers and many more civilians. An immediate ceasefire must be established and negotiations must begin. Too many lives have been needlessly wasted, too many families have been destroyed, and if this continues, it could turn into something much bigger and much worse.
I know Vladimir well. Now is the time to act. China can help. The world is waiting!”
