The biggest opposition party has an exceptionally high wage limit. From the data found, it appears that few people are paid a lot.
As Péter Magyar recently reported on his social media page, support for the Tisza Party is flowing nicely. Index has now found data on how generously the party honors its professionals.
Although somewhat late, they published their preliminary financial report for the third quarter on the party's website. According to this, HUF 525 million flowed into the party coffers between April 1 and September 30 this year.
The political organization, which only came to life in April this year, was authorized to found the largest faction in the Municipal Assembly in the municipal elections in June (in a tie).
Áron Porcher Somerville and Szilvia Gémes also became members of the 10-person representative group. In addition to obtaining mandates, however, there is one more common feature in their careers, namely that
both representatives from Budapest are also employed by the Tisza Party.
Although written questions were sent to the stakeholders and the party's press office, neither the two representatives nor the party responded to the request. Among other things, the paper was interested in what kind of party work they must do in addition to their representative activities, and in what order of work in order to
they can take home a salary well over twice the current average salary of around HUF 600,000.
Porcher, who is of half-English origin, worked for a private equity investment fund until May 2024, where he gained experience in the field of renewable energy and infrastructure, and created related financial models and plans. After his political role (in addition to the honorarium of representative and committee vice president), he receives more than HUF 1,500,000 for his unspecified policy leadership work for the Tisza Party.
Also, Szilvia Gémes can cash out more than one and a half million a month.
The mother of three (who, in addition to being a representative, is also a member of the Human Resources Committee of the Metropolitan Municipality) is the head of HR for the Tisza Party. The details of his work were not disclosed, but as is known, the party launched a recruitment campaign on October 23, which lasted until November 30.
According to the third quarter financial report, the Tisza Party spent an exceptionally high amount on wages, a total of HUF 114.5 million. A total of forty people work at the political organization under contract.
