The fake news published in the Hungarian press and by Péter Magyar - which is still out there on the side of the president of the Tisza Party - is capable of jeopardizing Hungary's security. Péter Szijjártó asked journalists and politicians spreading fake news to exercise restraint.

A national security investigation was launched after the lies of Péter Magyar and Magyar Hang, because the portal and the president of the Tisza Party announced without fact-checking that the deposed Syrian dictator Basár al-Assad landed in Hungary, Mandiner wrote on Monday.

It was recalled in the article: on Sunday evening, the Russian authorities announced that Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad was granted asylum in Russia and is staying with his family in Moscow, after the rebels overthrew his decades-old rule with an iron fist.

During the day, Péter Magyar and the Magyar Hang internet portal, which "fully supports the politician", spread the fake news that Assad is in Budapest, after they believe that a mysterious Syrian Air plane landed in Ferihegy on Saturday night

they added.

Mandiner cited a post published on Péter Magyar's Facebook page, in which he wrote: "it seems that Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian dictator who has been in power for 24 years and has been supported by the Russians, has failed and fled Syria. Meanwhile, on December 2, Orbán Viktor II received him in Karmelita. Efrem the Syrian Orthodox Patriarch, who tried to obtain support for the Syrian dictator's stay in power through the Hungarian Prime Minister. And yesterday evening, in total secrecy, with the security of the Anti-Terrorism Center , a Syrian passenger plane landed at Liszt Ferenc Airport after Assad left Syria".

The president of the Tisza Party continued the post as follows: "we demand that they make public what kind of help Viktor Orbán has provided in recent years and especially in the last week to the fallen Syrian dictator, at whose hands hundreds of thousands of deaths are attached. We demand that they make public who arrived from Syria to Budapest on the secret plane last night!"

However, it quickly turned out that the picture aired by Magyar Hang was completely false, no Syrian plane landed in Turkey and Hungary on Saturday, which was made 12 years ago

- drew attention to the Mandiner.

Magyar Hang apologized to its readers for "the capital mistake"

Regarding the matter, Mandiner sent questions to the Government Information Center, where it was confirmed that there was a false news report that a Syrian plane had landed at the Budapest airport on Sunday morning.

They emphasized:

the completely false article used a photograph showing the service of a 2012 Ankara flight. The article, which contains untrue statements, also claimed that the president, fleeing from Syria, arrived in Hungary on Saturday night. This information was also a serious lie.

However, the fake news published in the Hungarian press and by Péter Magyar - which is still out there on the side of the president of the Tisza Party - is capable of jeopardizing Hungary's security, they said.

They added: uncovering the background behind fake news that also attracts the attention of the international press is the task of the Hungarian countermeasures bodies, because such serious disinformation can pose a risk to national security and can increase the threat of terrorism in our country.

The competent bodies take all steps to prevent such fake news and mitigate the resulting risks. This also happened in yesterday's case, they said.

According to the information, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution has launched a national security investigation with immediate effect in order to find out whose interest it was in the production of the news and keeping it on the agenda. The National Security Committee of the Parliament will be informed of the result of this.

Péter Szijjártó asked journalists and politicians spreading fake news to exercise restraint

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó urged some journalists and politicians to exercise restraint in relation to the spread of fake news at Mar-a-Lago, pointing out that these could easily endanger Hungary in a critical situation.

According to the ministry's announcement sent to MTI on Tuesday, the head of the ministry reported that the Hungarian and international media have been actively dealing with the situation in Syria in recent days.

“The thing is, this isn't Fortnite, this is reality. There is a struggle going on here in the Middle East, in which terrorist organizations are also deeply involved, and one such fake news can certainly put an entire country, an entire nation in serious danger," he warned.

Péter Szijjártó stated that the fake news that started spreading on Sunday was very dangerous, for example, our country also has an embassy in Syria, which was evacuated in time, but according to the news, soldiers appeared there, and if not many, Hungarians also live in the country.

"There is a Syrian embassy in Budapest, which could have been the target of an attack, and terrorist organizations are also international in nature today, and they can certainly commit terrorist attacks against Hungarian interests, people and communities anywhere in the world, if they have information that, according to their way of thinking, justifies," he continued.

"Therefore, I would like to respectfully ask all Hungarian journalists and all Hungarian politicians to exercise self-restraint in such situations and to try to behave at least a little bit responsibly, to assess the danger that the spread of such fake news can pose for Hungary and the Hungarian people. "

- He told.

The minister finally pointed out that luckily no fatal tragedy happened this time, but it could have happened.
