The gala is presented as a New Year's Eve program by Duna and Dankó Rádió.

This year, Dankó Rádió also awarded outstanding representatives of Hungarian music with its own awards at the Dankó Gala held at the House of Hungarian Music. The Dankó Music Awards were presented to the winners in six categories on Monday evening, who also entertained the audience with their performances. The Duna and Dankó Rádió will present the gala as a New Year's Eve program - the Press and Marketing Office of the Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund (MTVA) informed MTI.

The Dankó Music Award was founded by Dankó Rádió in 2023 with the goal of creating a tradition to promote and nurture Hungarian music.

This year, the folk music prize was won by Tükrös Együttes, representing the traditional folk music of the Hungarian-speaking regions, while the gypsy music prize went to clarinetist Csaba Lukács. Mónika Fischl, prima donna with the Ferenc Liszt Prize, was awarded the operetta performer award, and András Tolnai, singer of the 100 Tagú Gypsy Band, was awarded the Magyarnóta award. The performance award was accepted by Roby Lakatos, violin virtuoso and world musician.

The lifetime achievement award went to Katalin Madarász, a singer of folk songs and sheet music,

this was previously given to him by channel director Gábor Eredics; the audience could also watch the video of the solemn moment.

In addition to the productions of the award winners, the large-scale show featured performances by star guests such as Rezső Soltész, György Ferenczi, Simon Boglárka, Gábor Jenei, István Mikó and the Vujicsics ensemble, as well as the performance of the winning note of the Hungarian Song of the Year 2024 competition, Messze van a kíssi falum. too.

The hosts of the evening were the two presenters of Dankó Rádió, Beatrix Budai and Zoltán Gaál.

The public can meet this year's Dankó Music Award winners on public media channels during the period between the two holidays: in the Libretto and Kontúr broadcasts of the M5 cultural channel or in the Duna Család-barát and Családi kör shows.

Dankó Rádió is holding a thematic weekend this weekend in honor of the award winners and will also treat itself to a Facebook game that will last the whole week.
