The Hungarian women's handball team lost 30-27 to world champion and Olympic silver medalist France in the last round of the European Championship semi-finals, jointly organized by Hungary, Austria and Switzerland, on Tuesday in Debrecen. At the same time, Katrin Klujber became the best player of the match with nine goals. Vladimir Golovin's team will play against Norway in the semi-finals in Vienna on Friday.
During the preparation period, the sixth-ranked five-round team of national team captain Vladimir Golovin met the world champion and Olympic silver medalist team twice. In one match, Hungary won 30-27, and in the other, France won 26-22.
As the best player in the match, Klujber scored nine times, which means that he is currently at the top of the goalscoring list.
Szemerey neutralized nine and Böde-Bíró two French shots. For the French, Nze Minko scored four goals, Ferencváros' Orlane Kanor did not score. Glauser finished with three saves and Sako with seven.
This was the 57th match between the two teams, 31 wins, two draws and now 24 defeats from the Hungarian point of view.
