The Prime Minister said that we are living through the most dangerous weeks of the war.
"I had an hour-long phone conversation with President Putin this morning. We are living in the most dangerous weeks of the war. We will use all the diplomatic tools at our disposal in order to promote a ceasefire and peace," the Prime Minister wrote on his social media page.
Magyar Nemzet wrote that the Kremlin's press service also issued a statement.
They discussed Ukraine and economic cooperation, the Kremlin said.
Orbán expressed his interest in promoting a joint search for a political and diplomatic solution to the crisis, taking into account, among other things, his contacts with many Western leaders, the press release states. Putin outlined his assessment of the development of the situation and the destructive course of the Kiev regime, which continues to exclude the possibility of a peaceful settlement. During the conversation, the two leaders touched on bilateral cooperation as well as the tense situation in the Middle East, paying particular attention to Syria.
As is known, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held a meeting with Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Michael Waltz on Monday afternoon in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. In recent days, Viktor Orbán also visited Pope Francis as part of the peace mission.
