Another massive Russian air attack hit Ukraine on Friday morning, targeting energy infrastructure in several counties. Explosions rocked several county seats, during the attack two rockets flew into the airspace of Subcarpathian County.
- The air defense forces shot down two missiles in Transcarpathian territory - announced Miroszlav Bileckij, head of Transcarpathian County Military Administration, on his social media page. According to the announcement, one of them was neutralized by the soldiers of the Transcarpathian Territorial Defense Brigade 101 near Munkács, between Pósaháza and Várkulcsa, in a wooded, bushy area where its pieces were found. The other rocket was shot near the village of Várkulcsa.
So far, there have been no reports of serious damage or casualties.
According to assumptions, the H-101 type air-to-ground cruise missile carried a 400-kilogram warhead, journalist Vitalij Glagola wrote on his Telegram page. The firefighters considered that it would have been dangerous to transport the explosive charge from the site of the impact, so it was defused on the spot.
According to the report, approximately 30 residents of the 2-kilometer area deemed dangerous were evacuated until the charge was detonated. The evacuation was successfully carried out at 1:40 p.m. (Eastern European time), and no one was injured in the explosion.
Most recently, during the air attack on November 17, the wreckage of enemy rockets and drones fell on an uninhabited area near Munkács and Rahó.
