Moreover, the incident took place at a time when the government announced that the pro-peace negotiations could enter a new phase, that is, a cease-fire is even possible.
The Hungarian embassy in Paris was threatened - this was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade on his social media page on Saturday. Péter Szijjártó wrote: the employees of the representation received a life-threatening threat in an email. Experts drew attention to the possibility of similar cases in the future.
The staff of the Hungarian embassy were threatened in the symbolic capital of international diplomacy - the scientific director of Századvég, the spokesperson of CÖF-CÖKA, and the general secretary of EuCET told M1 about this. - the constitutional lawyer told the news station.
The fact that terrorist threats in Paris must be taken seriously is clearly demonstrated by the events of recent years. In November 2015, Islamist terrorists carried out attacks in six locations in the French capital. 130 people died in the attacks, most of them in the club called Bataclan, where the terrorists attacked the spectators of a concert.
Even this year, two jihadist gunmen committed an attack against the editorial office of Charlie Hebdo. Twelve people died and another 11 were injured in the Paris editorial office of the satirical weekly. And since then, the attacks have been regular. A year ago, a radical Islamist killed a German tourist with a knife and wounded two others near the Eiffel Tower.
So far, not much is known about the threat against the Hungarian embassy on Saturday. The foreign minister's statement also mentioned that the letter was presumably sent from an address connected to a neighboring country. Péter Szijjártó added:
this is already being investigated by the Hungarian services, in order to ensure that diplomats can work safely during the particularly difficult period ahead.
