One of the most anticipated Hungarian films of recent years, Semmelweis, will be shown on Sunday, December 29, at 9 p.m. as a national TV premiere on Duna. The biographical drama, which has also attracted the attention of foreign film productions, is Hungary's official entry for the next, 97th Academy Awards in the best international film category.

The story of Ignác Semmelweis, known as one of the most decisive doctors of the 19th century, the savior of mothers and the apostle of clinical cleanliness, is both inspiring and heartbreaking. Last year, the autobiographical drama from the protagonist's point of view was shown in cinemas, which approaches the struggles of the medical genius not only from a historical, but also from a human and emotional point of view.

As part of Duna's December premiere films, on Sunday, December 29, at 9 p.m., the national TV premiere , in an accessible version, of the award-winning Artist of the Nation, directed by Lajos Koltai, winner of the Kossuth and Béla Balázs Prizes, and starring Junior Prima Prize winner Miklóssal Vecsei, Semmelweis movie.
