"Thank you, the Hungarian language is doing well, it has survived the last millennium, but it is still necessary to nurture and take care of it"
– the announcement quotes the words of the Minister of Justice Bence Tuzson, who at the ceremony on Tuesday greeted those who are working to preserve the beautiful Hungarian language in Hungary and beyond.
Bence Tuzson said: the goal of the Hungarian Language Foundation is to support events, publications, and efforts for the preservation, research, and care of the Hungarian language here and beyond our borders. The foundation annually awards deserving persons with the Hungarian Language Award as moral and financial recognition, the minister reminded.
István Keszi, the representative of the foundation's founding rights, stated:
nurturing the Hungarian language is more than a linguistic issue. The Hungarian language is also a national unifying force, which is why any initiative that helps preserve the Hungarians' mother tongue is important. In addition, it is important to recognize those who perform beyond their means in everyday life and in the field of science
István Keszi emphasized.
According to the announcement, the winners of the Hungarian Language Award were selected by the board of trustees of the Magyar Nyelvőr Foundation from among representatives of three areas: among Hungarians abroad, among those living in Hungary, and among those who did the most to achieve the foundation's goals.
