The failed policy of Brussels must be rectified, the leadership of the party group said.

The leaders of the European Parliament party group Patriots for Europe praised the results of the Hungarian presidency in their press release issued on Thursday, in which they also called on the European Union to adopt a stricter migration policy and further strengthen the EU's competitiveness.

In the statement also published on X, the leaders stated: "The failed policy of Brussels must be corrected" and Europe's competitiveness must be strengthened.

In light of this, they welcomed the results of the Hungarian presidency for the economic restoration of the union, as well as the steps taken by the presidency, among others, in the fields of strengthening innovation, simplifying regulations, and industrial and economic recovery.

The leaders also praised the presidency's efforts towards a competitive and cost-effective agricultural sector, emphasizing that "Patriots will always fight on the front lines to protect farmers against the harmful effects of environmental regulations, excessive bureaucracy and unfair competition."

As they pointed out, "farmers deserve more", and in this spirit they welcomed the Common Agricultural Policy (KAP), which was unanimously adopted by the member states during the Hungarian EU presidency, putting farmers at the center.

In addition, the leaders reiterated their commitment to a stricter migration policy, highlighting the political declaration adopted by the party group in Budapest, advocating a stricter EU migration policy, in accordance with which they again called for strict protection of the EU's external borders and zero tolerance against illegal entry.

The leaders also expressed their grave concern about money laundering and corruption allegations against Didier Reynders, the outgoing European Commission justice commissioner.

The current case once again proves that the real rule of law problem must be sought in the EU institutions, in Brussels, the statement reads.

The leaders also congratulated Santiago Abascal, leader of the Spanish party Vox, which is a member of Patriots for Europe, on the occasion of his election as president of the party family on November 16.
