Thanks to the Hungarian people, our country's largest charity campaign, It's good to be good!, collected a record amount of more than HUF 519 million.
The collection organized by the public media for the 13th time showed the generosity of Hungary and the Hungarians of the world.
This year's beneficiary is the Tábitha Children's Hospice House, operated by the Baptist Charity Service, whose new institution is now definitely being built, guaranteeing the appropriate care and support for terminally ill children and their families.
It's good to be good this year, a real Christmas miracle! charity campaign, as more than 370,000 calls were received to the 1355 donation line by December 22, which shows greater cooperation than ever before.
According to the organizers, thanks are due to all donors: the whole country helped as one, young people, old people, families and communities joined together to help.
In addition to private individuals, companies and organizations also joined the collaboration with generous donations. The charity movement has become a cross-border event over the years. Support came from many parts of the world, this year Germany, Canada and the United States of America among others, proving that goodwill and help know no borders.
Thanks to the public media's charity action, in recent years health institutions have been able to develop, therapeutic treatments for children have become available, and children orphaned during the coronavirus epidemic have also received support. The developments realized from this year's amount give new hope and strength to those in need. In Törökbálint, the Tábitha Children's Hospice House, which is unique in Central Europe, will be built from the amount.
Duna Médiaszolgáltat Zrt. and according to the plans of the Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund, the campaign will continue next year: in 2025, there will be another opportunity for Hungarians to prove once again: It's good to be good!
