András Schäfer practically saved the Haladás football team from going out of business. He first transferred HUF 5 million, then on the last day of the year he transferred the missing amount of the required 55 million to the club. Famous for humanity!
Originally, Haladás could have started in the NB II Merkantil Bank League, but it did not receive the license from the Hungarian Football Association, and then it turned out that the club has a significant debt, which is why it can only continue its participation in the NB III.
The band, which has since undergone a change of ownership, owed a significant amount, and had to collect 55 million forints by the end of the year in order not to disappear - the Haladás Szürkolói Kör wrote an open letter to this end, which also reached Szombathely-born András Schäfer.
The midfielder of Union Berlin and the Hungarian national team first helped the initiative with 5 million forints, and on the last day of the year, the Haladás Zurkolói Kör reported that the player transferred the still missing amount (allegedly 10 million forints), which practically saved the the club from termination.
