The Tisza has found another opportunity for storage.

The Tisza Party came up with another idea for how to raise money. Recently, a new organization appeared around the Tisza party media, Kontroll.hu, which belongs to the interest of Márton Magyar, whose task will be to finance the portal. The public was only able to learn some information about all this from the news site's Facebook page. As they wrote in their posts before December 31, viewers can help the work of Kontroll.hu with the financial support of the Tabula Rasa Media Foundation.

There is no information available about the foundation of the organization, its goals or how exactly it is connected to Kontroll Média Szolgáltató Kft., which operates the propaganda site.

The registration of the Tabula Rasa Media Foundation was applied for in mid-November by businessman Gyula Vaszil, the organization is led by him and two other board members, Tibor Rózsa and Gábor Tímár. "The foundation's assets are managed by the board of trustees. During the use of the foundation's assets, the board of trustees decides on the basis of the approved financial plan and decision on the grants," reads the website of the National Court Office, where reports and founding documents of civil organizations are published.

"The purpose of the foundation is to provide support for the distribution and reception of the most important domestic and foreign public interest news, for the understanding of political, economic and cultural events, statements and happenings and for the development of social opinion formation," the description reads. They added: "The aim of the foundation is also to promote press-like control and criticism of the activities of the government and local authorities, as well as to help monitor the use of public funds, European Union and other public interest financial resources. The foundation also aims to contribute to the improvement of the state of press freedom in Hungary by supporting plural and diverse information, and thereby encourage those who work to create a democratic state of law in Hungary."

It is interesting that one of the board members of the Tabula Rasa Media Foundation, Gábor Tímár, also works as a journalist at Kontroll.hu.

It should also be known about Tímár that he is an old-fashioned MSZP politician, from the 1990s until the Gyurcsány-Bajnai era, he was a local politician of the socialist party and a municipal representative of Budapest IX. district, Ferencváros. In 2004, he even appeared on the MSZP list in the European Parliament, but not in the final position.

Tímár mainly wrote opinion articles supporting Péter Magyar for Kontroll.hu, but his articles on environmental protection and foreign policy are also available.

In recent years, Tímár was the author of the Konservatív Alternatíva: Reform és Demokrácia, or KARD blog for short, on which relatively few posts were published until February 2024, the site has been active since then, that is, since Péter Magyar's Partizán interview.

Although it is a mystery why Tímár tried a conservative blog after a decade-long career as a socialist politician, the tone and use of words of the articles published here evoke the atmosphere of Gyurcsány troll portals, such as Nyugati Fény. The content of the posts typically focuses on defaming the government and the right wing, so perhaps the atmosphere of the blog is not so far from the usual rhetoric of the socialist party.

Since last March, his writings under the name Péter Hetei have also appeared on KARD, Hetei has also been the author of Kontroll.hu since October.

Another thing worth noting about the new foundation is that the organization is registered in István Magyar's law office in Markó Street, District V. The lawyer is none other than the father of Péter Magyar and Márton Magyar, so now Kontroll has become a family business for the Magyars.

Because, in October, Márton Magyar, i.e. Péter Magyar's brother, founded Kontroll.hu, which is not incidentally led by Péter Tarr as editor-in-chief. Old left-wing faces such as W. Árpád Tóta, HVG publicist, political scientist László Kéri, and former smallholder politician Balázs Gulyás are also regular speakers and hosts shows in the programs of the portal's YouTube channel.

Although Márton Magyar promised at the start that they would be independent from the Tisza Party, since then no article critical of Péter Magyar has appeared on the portal, and the news site is remarkably silent about the scandals surrounding the opposition party.
