On Thursday, November 28, between 18:00 and 20:00, the "Energy and climate" conference will be held as a joint program of BLA and PBK, Budapest, I. Kerület, Csónak u. 1. in the Lónyay-Hatvany villa.
Program:
Energy uncertainty: The organized destruction of the EU's competitiveness. Lecturer: Prof. Samuel Furfari, chemical engineer, former chief energy officer of the European Commission (in English).

Samuel Furfari (1953) is a chemical engineer with a PhD in applied sciences. He was the chief energy officer of the European Commission for 36 years. He has been teaching geopolitics and energy policy since 2003. Author of 16 books on energy and sustainable development. In May 2024, Samuel Furfari was invited to the MCC Brussels climate energy event in Brussels.
Another Hungarian connection: he is proud to have been a close friend of the late chemistry professor István Markó (1956 - 2017), author of the book "Climate, 15 Inconvenient Truths". The title of Samuel Furfari's lecture in Budapest is the same as the title of his book published in 2023: "Energy Insecurity: The Organized Destruction of the EU's Competitiveness", which is a hit. This presentation is also a good opportunity for you as an active Christian to remind yourself that the EU was founded by Christian politicians with the aim of creating prosperity and peace.

The conference is the second event in a series of three events organized on topics related to the priorities of the Hungarian EU Presidency. The first conference entitled Migration and security was held on October 30, 2024, with great interest. The last event will be held on December 17, 2024, entitled War and Peace, this time not in the Lónyai-Hatvany villa, but also in the Castle, in the building of the Main Guard. Our invited speaker is expected to be Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szíjjártó.
