Condominiums and housing cooperatives can submit tenders for the call for tenders aimed at modernizing 170,000 apartments, exclusively to support investments that increase the energy efficiency of residential properties equipped with district heating and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The extent of this can be no more than 50 percent of the eligible gross costs, the amount of the support is a maximum of HUF 75 million.

Applications for support in the district heating modernization program of apartment buildings can be applied for from Tuesday, the Ministry of Innovation and Technology announced to MTI.

The announcement highlights: ITM, in accordance with the Climate and Nature Protection Action Plan, helps Hungarian households to make their own decisions about the amount and timing of their energy consumption and to contribute to climate protection by increasing awareness of their energy consumption, while also saving utility costs.

The framework amount is HUF 3 billion, a maximum of HUF 400,000 can be spent on an apartment

Therefore, the ministry provides a non-refundable subsidy of HUF 3 billion for the heating modernization of housing cooperative and condominium apartments involved in the district heating service, Attila Steiner, the state secretary responsible for the development of the circular economy, energy and climate policy, announced according to the announcement.

Condominiums and housing cooperatives can submit applications for the tender aimed at modernizing the 170,000 apartments that do not yet have adjustable heating, exclusively to support investments that increase the energy efficiency of residential properties with district heating and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The extent of this can be no more than 50 percent of the eligible gross costs, the amount of support is a minimum of HUF 150,000 and a maximum of HUF 75 million, but the amount of support per apartment cannot exceed HUF 400,000, they said.

You can apply from March 16 to August 31, 2021

According to the information, you can apply from 10 a.m. on March 16 until the available funds are exhausted, but no later than August 31, 2021.

The ÉMI Építésügyi Minősésvernőrző Innovation Nonprofit Kft. decides on the eligibility of applications within 45 days from the date of submission of the documents. If the application receives support, the representative of the apartment buildings concerned will receive an electronic notification of the result of the assessment and the conditions for issuing the supporting document within 15 days of the decision, they added.

In the announcement, they also remind: as a precursor to the current call, the ministry announced in the summer of 2019 a tender support program aimed at spreading the use of smart cost sharing and replacing radiators, thanks to which the energetic modernization of the heating systems of a total of 26,300 apartments in 321 apartment buildings and housing cooperative buildings could begin at a cost of HUF 2.46 billion with a non-refundable grant.
