Remains of scrolls containing biblical text and other significant archaeological finds have been found in caves in the Judean desert near the Dead Sea.
One of the almost 2,000-year-old parchment scrolls discovered by the researchers of the Israel Archaeological Authority (IAA), torn into small pieces, contains a passage from the book of the prophet Zechariah: "Do these things: Speak the truth to one another! Bring righteous and peace-making judgment to your gates! Do not plan any evil against one another, and do not love false oaths. I hate all of this, says the Lord." (Zechariah 8, 16-18).
