Quarantine is mandatory for anyone arriving in Slovakia from abroad, according to the decree of the Slovak Public Health Office valid from today, which supersedes the rules for crossing the border so far. The changes were justified by the spread of virus mutations, wrote Felvidek.ma based on the TASR .
"This is how we want to reduce the possibility of the spread and development of new mutants of the virus," said Daša Račková, the spokesperson of the agency. He emphasized that the aim of the measure is prevention, but the chances of re-infection and post-vaccination infection are also constantly being investigated.
The provision also applies to those who have already been infected with the coronavirus or who have already been vaccinated, but healthcare workers who come to help are an exception.
