The EU ordered punitive measures against four Chinese officials and an entity over human rights violations reported from Xinjiang province, and Beijing responded by announcing sanctions against EU politicians and institutions. Péter Szijjártó considers the EU's decision to be meaningless, self-evident and harmful.

"On behalf of the European Union, the Council of Foreign Ministers made new sanctions decisions, in the framework of which we placed eleven persons and four entities on the sanctions list for human rights reasons. For our part, we consider this to be a senseless, ostentatious and harmful decision, especially since four Chinese persons were also added to this sanctions list, which has not been done in the last thirty years due to human rights considerations," he said .

"We consider it senseless and harmful right now, when lives should be saved and the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union should be transformed into a non-sanctions council," he emphasized. It is clear that the consequence of this sanctions decision will be to further poison the relations between the EU and China.

Shortly after the EU decision, China responded by imposing sanctions on ten individuals, including German politician Reinhard Butikofer and German researcher Adrian Zenz, as well as individual members of the European, Dutch and Belgian parliaments, as well as four institutions.

Among those banned is Katalin Cseh, who politicizes in the colors of the Momentum Movement, who became known for making "jokes" about abortions with a blender. Czech published the news on his social media page that he was "banned from China by the Chinese dictatorship".

The representative of the moment, who also considers our country a dictatorship, can still travel to Hungary.
