The XVII. The renovation of the building, which was built in the 19th century and originally operated as a Pauline monastery, was carried out within the framework of the Széchenyi 2020 program with a grant of more than HUF 330 million.

The external renovation works of the Kossuth Lajos Secondary School Piarist College in Sátoraljaújhely have been completed, the Hungarian Province of the Piarist Order realized the project with a grant of more than HUF 330 million, the Piarist provincial leadership told MTI.

They wrote that the historic building was originally built in the 17th century. It was built in the 19th century and was a Pauline monastery, its renovation could be realized within the framework of the Széchenyi 2020 program, with EU and Hungarian budget resources.

In the process, the roof structure of the building was renovated, the facade and courtyard windows were replaced, and the exterior facade of the building was renewed. In addition, the subsequent waterproofing of the walls and the thermal insulation of the attic floor were also carried out.

The construction lasted about a year and a half and was completed at the end of February 2021.

During the renovation, the inhabitants of the attic space, as well as the protected bats, received increased attention. With the cooperation of the Directorate of the Aggtelek National Park, the tranquility of the building-dwelling bats was ensured by the creation of a protective net, the announcement states.
