It has been fourteen years since we celebrated the Polish-Hungarian Friendship Day on March 23. The public media of the two nations - in close cooperation - pay tribute to the historical unity of Poland and Hungary with programs and films dedicated to the day of remembrance.

Both countries speak proudly of Hungarian-Polish relations, as the two peoples have proven several times throughout history that they can count on each other. The Polish-Hungarian Friendship Day on March 23 is meant to celebrate this exemplary international bond. On this occasion, the Hungarian public media broadcasts programs exploring the historical relationship between the two countries and Polish films on several channels for one month.

"The Polish-Hungarian Friendship Day is of particular importance in the life of Hungary and the Hungarian public media. On March 23, we will try to present the historical and cultural traditions of the two peoples going back several centuries on our channels within the framework of our friendship and camaraderie, which is also legendary in Europe. It is no coincidence that in 2015, this relationship was included in the Hungarian intellectual museum with the Hungarian Heritage Award. We are confident that we can nurture the close friendship from the Árpád era not only today, but also in the future, and pass it on to our children and grandchildren. To this end, our goal is that our television and radio programs give the Hungarian people as much insight as possible into the pride of Poland," said Dániel Papp, CEO of the Media Services and Asset Management Fund.

On March 23, the day of Polish-Hungarian friendship is commemorated in many programs: for example, on the Danube in Család-barát, on M5 in Libretto and in Ez itt a skám, as well as in Kossuth Rádio's Good Morning in Hungary, Kalendárium and Nagyok too. Radios Bartók and Dankó will play works by Polish composers in tribute to the famous holiday.
