We are in the rapidly rising part of the third wave of the epidemic, the British virus mutant is spreading very quickly, the number of active infected people and hospital patients is increasing significantly.
According to the latest data, there are 9,637 new infected people, bringing the total number of identified infected people to 603,347 since the beginning of the epidemic. Most of the 272 who died were elderly and chronically ill, so the number of those who died rose to 19,224. Currently, 11,760 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospitals, of which 1,467 are on ventilators. The vaccination program is running smoothly and according to schedule, Hungary is second in the EU vaccination ranking list. The vaccination rate of the Hungarian population reached 17.4% - 1 million 747 thousand people were vaccinated - compared to the EU average of 9.6%.
