The question is not when we will reach the top, but how quickly we will go down - Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told Radio Kossuth Good morning, Hungary! in his show.

275 people died yesterday, 11,823 people are in hospital, 1,480 people are on ventilators. They do superhuman work in healthcare, he added. There are 10,343 beds in reserve and 1,693 ventilators still in reserve. There is also a reserve of manpower, but the latter are not infinite, he added. The commuters didn't have to be touched yet.

He warned parents and young people that the British mutant is already knocking teenagers off their feet, so they should also pay attention. The Prime Minister referred to yesterday's EU summit, where it was again revealed that there are serious difficulties in several countries, and that those who did not acquire Eastern vaccines earlier were only able to vaccinate half as many people. He said again that the decision-makers in Brussels focused on the procurement price of the vaccines, but actually the procurement time would have been important. This is all messed up.

In Hungary, however, more than 1.8 million vaccines have been administered so far. When asked by the opposition how many vaccines are in the warehouses, Viktor Orbán said that there are indeed 517,000 vaccines in the warehouses, but they are second vaccinations, so they cannot be immunized.

"We are now in a position where we can talk about a restart, but an immediate restart is not possible. As long as the infection is so high, there will be no opening, but we will switch to the square meter-based system. There can be one person per 10 square meters. Now it seems that shops can be open until nine and ten o'clock will be the new curfew." he said.

Viktor Orbán also said that until those over 65 are vaccinated, it will not be possible to open. After all, people over the age of 65 brought the country to this point, and their points of view cannot be pushed into the background. If they have received the vaccine, they can be restarted. It now appears that 71 percent of those registered over the age of 65 have been vaccinated.

The prime minister said that in the case of pregnant women, the decision was made that they can be vaccinated with Pfizer and Moderna.

"If we want to let children go back to school, teachers and school workers must be vaccinated as well. Out of 112,000 registered school workers, 20,000 have already been vaccinated. The remainder can be vaccinated until April 10, so there is a real chance that schools and kindergartens can reopen on April 19.

"In April-May, we can vaccinate one and a half times as much as in March. I have no doubt that it will be a free summer at home - said the prime minister."
