Another tragicomic twist to the gender frenzy could be the transformation of prison laws. A new prison law has come into effect in California that refers to transgender people, and nearly 300 convicts have already submitted their requests for transfer. The majority want to go to a women's prison, reports the international news agency V4NA.

Gavin Newsom, the Democratic governor of California, signed a law last September that would allow transgender inmates to be housed in prisons according to their newly adopted gender identity. Until now, they have done this based on their biological sex. The new law entered into force on January 1st, and its effects are already being felt. The Los Angeles Times reports that just over 1 percent of California's prison population, or 1,129 inmates, identify as non-binary, intersex or transgender. So far, officials have transferred four inmates to Chowchilla Women's Prison, 21 gender-based transfers have been approved, and so far none have been denied. Out of a total of 261 applications, all but six wanted to be transferred to a women's institution.

There are also examples of the Californian practice in Europe.

Alejandro Gentile spends his days in the women's wing of Limerick Prison. The 18-year-old was originally born male, but now identifies as female. And thanks to Ireland's Gender Act of 2015, he was allowed to be placed in a prison of the gender of his choice, which allows people to define their own identity.

However, this has serious dangers, given the man's background. Alejandro, who is now called Barbie Kardashian, went to prison because he threatened two people with death, and previously sexually assaulted women several times. In addition, the man, although he considers himself a woman, has not undergone any transformation surgery, so, for example, he still has male genitalia.

Good, very good! Uncle Kohn would say.
