Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county has been enriched with fifteen automatic canning machines thanks to the Civil Solidarity Forum - Civil Solidarity Foundation (CÖF - CÖKA) and the Association of Hungarian Women's Interests. Civilians' donations were handed over at various locations in the county's seven constituencies on Tuesday, April 20.

- Since 2016, the Civil Solidarity Forum - Civil Solidarity Foundation (CÖF - CÖKA) and the Association of Hungarian Women's Interests have been organizing public round table discussions with a food presentation under the title "Modern children's meals and the possibilities of local producers supplying them to public catering", said Norbert Heizler during the handover . national coordinator of CÖF-CÖKA . At these events, the four-season recipe collection developed by CÖF - CÖKA with the professional assistance of master chef Péter Buday was also presented. The book Ízig varáz serves as professional background material related to the canteen reform started by the government, which resulted in the quality improvement of public and children's meals.

Thanks to the private sponsors of CÖF - CÖKA, this mission has been supplemented - in recent years - with the free deployment of home canning machines, thus providing a means to expand family businesses and increase the sustainability of small communities. Automatic canners have already been donated to large families, small entrepreneurs, civil organizations, social institutions, and exemplary children's meal kitchens, where they can use the machines to prepare healthy products from local ingredients, including, of course, fruits and vegetables grown in backyard gardens.

- It is important that local ingredients appear as much as possible in public catering, thereby helping the situation of rural farmers - detailed Norbert Heizler, adding that the canning equipment handed over today will help with this. The national coordinator of the CÖF – CÖKA drew the attention of those present to the possibilities of applying for the Village and Urban Civil Fund.

Dr. Báné Gál Boglárka, president of the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Assembly - dr. With clerk Beáta Lupkovics - he took over the canning equipment on behalf of the county treasury. The chairman of the general assembly pointed out that more than 60 local treasure houses are currently represented in the county treasury, and there are more than 200 treasures, almost a fifth of which are gastronomic treasures or related events. – In addition to the store of value, making jam can also have a community-building role for an organization. I grew up in the countryside, so it was natural for me that all members of the family participate in canning. It is important that our children get to know the traditions that we learned from our grandparents and parents, because these canning processes also have an identity-strengthening role, the president emphasized. Dr. Báné Gál Boglárka added: this bottling machine will also have a place in the series of events helping to strengthen the county's identity.

The handover of the canning machines was coordinated by CÖF – CÖKA and the Association of Hungarian Women's Interests, who were represented by Norbert Heizler, the national coordinator of CÖF – CÖKA, and Kinga Szőnyi, the president of the Association of Hungarian Women's Interests at the series of events on Tuesday.
