Hungarian society is not very "gender sensitive", the great majority accepts the order created by God. There is a social consensus that gender reassignment of children is prohibited, Vasárnap.hu wrote, based on the gap-filling research of the Fundamental Rights Center.

According to the survey conducted on a representative sample of 1,000 people, more than two-thirds of Hungarians, 68.5 percent, clearly support that the male and female genders are innate characteristics, and 66 percent say that there are only two genders.

Only 22 percent believe that we can change our gender during our lifetime, and 24 percent believe in the existence of "additional genders". Based on these, it can be said that the majority of Hungarian society rejects the questioning of biological genders and accepts the order created by God.

It is also an encouraging result from the point of view of the future generation, that although almost a quarter of those surveyed (24%) accept the existence of gender in society, when it comes to their own children, they drastically reject any concrete steps of any kind.

It can be stated that there is a social consensus in Hungary that gender reassignment of children is prohibited, even if the parent agrees! 86 percent think so, compared to a paltry 6 percent!

The half-measure also asked about a question that has stirred up a lot of dust recently: the problematic of classical literary readings. 52 percent of the respondents supported Mór Jókai's novel Az arany emer, in their opinion the depiction of gender roles in the book is not outdated at all.

Finally, more than 70 percent of Hungarians reject the removal of the classics read by generations from the reading lists of young people. The results clearly show that Hungarians are conservative and vote for the "traditional" interpretation of male and female roles.
