The Hungarian Hollywood Council established the Adolph Zukor Award in 2018. The Prize can be awarded to those whose work strengthens the reputation of Hungarian cinematography past and present, and who have shown exemplary behavior throughout their civic activities and throughout their lives, which proves that dreams can be realized with willpower, self-belief and dedicated work. This is because they set an example for others to follow, especially young people.
Between 2018 and 2020, the Prize was awarded to Ferenc Rófusz, Béla Lakatos Szakcsi, Károly Horváth "Charlie", Gábor Herendi, Andy Vajna, Gábor Piroch, Balázs Bokor, Róbert Koltai and Csaba Káel. The award ceremonies of the Hungarian Hollywood Council usually take place at an exclusive event with several hundred people at the time of the Oscar award ceremony in Los Angeles. This year, due to the epidemic situation, the Council held a small-scale celebration in the Budapest film studio of the Origo Film Group.
Balázs Bokor, the President of the Council, emphasized in his celebratory speech that his NGO considers the award very important, since its namesake, Adolph Zukor, the founding father of Paramount Pictures, is a symbol of how serious results can be achieved with a lot of effort and will. The 2021 awards were given to Gyula Bodrogi, Artist of the Nation, L. Simon László József Attila Prize-winning writer and poet, and Béla Romwalter, managing director of Spark Kft., legendary film professional.
