The organizer of Mária Út said that, unfortunately, the shrine in Csíksomlyó cannot receive the pilgrims arriving en masse this year either, so the people appointed for the Pentecost farewell will bring the prayer intentions of the settlements and organizations.
The participants carry the prayers written on ribbons on foot, on horseback or running, and hand them to those waiting in the next settlement.
The ecclesiastical patron of the unusual ribbon pilgrimage in Csíksomlyo is Ft. P. Erik OFM Urbán, provincial chief of the Transylvanian Franciscan Order. Its chief secular patron is Ferenc Liszt, Hungarian Heritage and Kriterion Koszorú award-winning opera singer Levente Molnár, who is also a pilgrim of the 2021 Csíksomlyó Ribbon Pilgrimage and sings blessings at several locations.
On May 7 this year, The tapes are all collected and preserved for posterity.
