Minister of Agriculture István Nagy announced a new tender for farmers engaged in animal husbandry with a budget of HUF 30 billion.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Agriculture on Thursday, the head of the department explained: the purpose of the call announced in the Rural Development Program is to enable smaller livestock farms to replace their outdated production technology, thereby improving their productivity and profitability. Poultry farms, pig farms, cattle farms, sheep and goat farms, as well as other farm animals - such as horse farms, rabbits, bees, meat pigeons, quails, ostriches, emu, pheasants, partridges, and chinchilla farms applications for its modernization and development can be submitted between May 28 and July 22, 2021, István Nagy said.
He emphasized: the amount of support for the development of poultry and pig farms is a maximum of HUF 100 million, for the development of cattle farms a maximum of HUF 50 million, and for the development of sheep and goat farms and farms related to other animal species, a maximum of HUF 20 million. As a general rule, the intensity of the support is 50 percent of all eligible costs, while in the central Hungarian region it is 40 percent. Projects implemented by young agricultural producers and collectively are entitled to a support intensity increased by 10 percentage points. The call for tenders also includes the criteria for evaluating the applications, the minister added.
The head of the ministry indicated: the call creates an opportunity for the creation and design of buildings and structures related to animal husbandry, and according to the needs of individual sectors, the purchase of certain tools and machines related to animal husbandry can be supported independently. Thanks to the resources that can be obtained, the housing and feeding technology of the colonies can be renewed, the building energy indicators can be improved, and the building mechanical equipment can be renewed. In addition, technologies utilizing renewable energy sources can also receive support, as a result of which the competitiveness of livestock farms can be improved - emphasized István Nagy.
