Zoltán Varga emphasized in his online press conference on Wednesday, recorded in the corridor of the Parliament, that the average amount of the announced pension increase is roughly HUF 900, but there are also people who will receive HUF 247 more per month. The representative added that nine hundred HUF is enough for half a kilo of chicken breast.
The politician, who held a piece of wrapped chicken breast in his hand, said: he wishes Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to
"eat this for a month, but decide if you want to cook it or bake it, because if you use gas or any energy, you won't have money for a side dish."
Last summer, DK asked for a one-time aid of fifty thousand forints for pensioners, he reminded. He added that the Democratic Coalition also raised the idea of the European minimum pension.
At the end of the event, he said that
"I brought the pension increase to the cowardly and weak government, cowardly and weak, inhuman prime minister".
After that, Zoltán Varga went to the prime minister's parliamentary office and hung the chicken breast he had brought with him on the doorknob of the front door with the inscription "Prime Minister".
