From Saturday morning, the health lake in Hévíz will welcome guests again, and the health workers and teachers will not have to exchange tickets for a month at the adventure park in Zalaszabar. The Balaton tourist season was opened in an unusual way in Keszthely.

On Saturday morning, at the time of the reopening, several people were already queuing in Hévíz, at the entrance to the lake spa, where Zsuzsanna Mándó, the general director of the Hévíz spa and Szent András Rheumatic Hospital, announced at a press conference that the spa would reopen after 145 days. As he said: the reopening of the spa is an important milestone because it can also contribute to the physical and mental refreshment of visitors.

In response to MTI's question, the general director said: under normal circumstances, about one million admissions to the Hévíz lake and spa are changed every year, but now their goal is not to make up for the missed guests, as this cannot be done due to the restrictions due to the coronavirus epidemic. The guests are received in accordance with the precautions required by law, in order to provide safe conditions for those who want to refresh and heal.

Gábor Papp , the mayor of Hévíz (Fidesz-KDNP), said: it is a particularly great joy for the city that the lake, which is the basis of tourism, was able to reopen on the day of Hévíz's celebration, the day it was declared a city . In addition to the necessary precautions, not only restaurants, but also shops and service providers can open, and as a result of the cooperation of local businesses and tourism operators, visitors to Hévíz are also offered a variety of discounts.

The Zobori Amusement Park in Zalaszabar also opened on Saturday morning after being closed for almost six months, where all healthcare workers and teachers will be treated free of charge in May, the operator told MTI. The announcement reminds us that regardless of the epidemic situation, the largest adventure park in the Balaton region has been closely cooperating with Hungary's leading medical institutions in the spirit of social responsibility from the beginning, and permanent medical and teaching staff are an integral part of its operation.

In Keszthely, the reopening coincided with the traditional opening of the tourist season on May Day, which was held in an unusual way this year.
On Saturday afternoon, in front of the city hospital and the ambulance station - as a sign of respect for the healthcare workers, without whose work tourism could not start - the season opener began with a musical "gift" by András Kossuth prize-winning violinist Keller After that, following the traditions, the tourist season officially began with a ceremonial flag raising at the pier and the wreathing of Lake Balaton.
