The sixth round of the tender to support the purchase of electric assisted bicycles will open from May 3rd to 7th. So far, the government has contributed to the discounted purchase of around 3,500 electric bicycles with nearly HUF 376 million, announced Tamás Schanda, the Parliamentary and Strategic State Secretary of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) in the ministry's announcement on Sunday.
For the government, protecting the natural world is not just a slogan, but a real mission, which is why we created and are implementing the Climate and Nature Protection Action Plan, an important part of which is the greening of transportation. The aim of the tender to help buy electric bicycles is to reduce the use of cars by employees and to encourage Hungarian people to cycle in a healthy, environmentally friendly way, even on weekdays, said the state secretary.
Tamás Schanda explained the details of the tender: the sixth stage of the HUF 1 billion tender supporting the purchase of electric assisted bicycles will start on May 3rd at 8:00 a.m.
The maximum amount of support is 50 percent of the purchase price, a maximum of HUF 90,000 in the case of bicycles with a pedal sensor, and a maximum of HUF 150,000 in the case of bikes with a torque sensor.
Starting this spring, the process of accounting for tenders has been simplified, so it is no longer necessary to submit or conclude a sales contract. The administrative burdens were also reduced, thereby significantly shortening the administration time, speeding up the payment of subsidies.
More information on the details of the tender can be found on the IFKA website.
The documents in this round can be submitted until midnight on May 7, 2021, the announcement states.
