After the government meeting on Wednesday, the minister in charge of the Prime Ministership Gergely Gulyás and the government spokesperson Alexandra Szentkirályi will hold a government briefing again. According to Gulyás: we can vaccinate anyone in a few days!

Gergely Gulyás said about the government meeting: the virus situation was discussed on Wednesday. We managed to break the third wave, the number of people who received the first vaccination in Hungary is over 4,153, thanks to which the restart could continue.

Hungary was the first to regain its freedom in the EU, there is no doubt that this freedom is not yet complete. There is a debate going on all over Europe about who is allowed to do what and what not with a protection card.

In Hungary, the national consultation decided: 65 percent said that rights should come with the identity card, he declared.

Gergely Gulyás: by August, you will definitely need the protection card to use the various services. Vaccination will remain registration-based and will not be mandatory. Today, we can vaccinate anyone in a few days. The possibility of booking an appointment is still open now.

In Hungary, vaccines are only approved after strict tests. All vaccines are safe and effective, said Gulyás.

There are two forms of anti-vaccination: it creates distrust against some vaccine, or it campaigns against vaccination as a whole, he pointed out.

Hungary is making bilateral agreements regarding protection certificates, said Gulyás. We do not consider the fear that certain vaccines could not be used to travel in the summer to be justified, he added. In case of bilateral agreements, it will be possible to recognize vaccination certificates.

The government expects a 5.2 percent growth by 2022, a 5.9 percent deficit, and a decreasing national debt, Gulyás said. Hungary was able to substantially reduce its public debt in the past, so it is now possible that it was able to keep the economy functioning.

Gulyás said that those affected will receive an extra half-month pension next year, and that the SZJA exemption for those under 25 will also remain.

HUF 7,300 billion will be allocated to restart the economy, he added.

A new era was also opened in health care, the gratuity was abolished, and there was a significant increase in medical wages. Next year, 769 billion more resources will be allocated to health care, and thus expenses have more than doubled in 11 years, the minister pointed out.

Gulyás also spoke about the fact that settlements with less than 25,000 people received support equal to the amount lost from the IPA. Settlements with more than 25,000 inhabitants received HUF 23.6 billion.

The world of local governments can also emerge from the current crisis strengthened, said Gulyás. He thanked the settlements for their participation in the defense.

In response to a question from Gulyás, he said that Hungary ranks well in European vaccination statistics because Eastern vaccines were also used. We can be proud that we did not wait for the union, he added. We are sorry that the left is causing mistrust.

In response to another question, Gulyás said that we do not receive EU subsidies for free. It's a win-win situation. "No one should think that we are getting some charity donation from the union," he added.

In response to Gulyás's question, he said that the problem is that the European Commission only voices opposition opinions, which is what happened with the application of György Magyar's son. This is how European unity can be broken, he added.

In response to Gulyás's question, he said that Ferenc Gyurcsány had effectively become the opposition's candidate for prime minister.

In connection with the possible third vaccination, he stated that the claim that any vaccine would not provide sufficient protection is without any basis. After administration of the Sinopharm vaccine, protection against an infection can be several hundred times greater. There is no significant difference between the vaccines, said Gulyás.

In response to a question, Gulyás said that they are constantly monitoring the epidemiological data, and that the opening so far has not had any dramatic consequences. 100 years ago, since the Spanish flu, there has not been a similar pandemic, it is true for all countries in Europe that the number of deaths has increased, Hungary is in the middle ground in terms of excess deaths.

After the first vaccination, the protection certificate is issued and mailed, said Gergely Gulyás. A police investigation is underway into last week's stress attack.

The administration of the vaccines depends on how many people register and how many take the vaccine, Gulyás said in response to a question. It will be difficult to increase willingness above 5 million, the registration number of 5.6 million seems realistic, he added.

In response to Gulyás' question, he said that Ferenc Gyurcsány had previously also wanted Sino-Hungarian higher education cooperation. György Soros and Barack Obama also gave lectures at Fudan University, he added.

There was no structural decline in the economy, the service sector will recover quickly, Gulyás said in response to another question. He is confident that the labor market will not only return to its previous state, but will also be better than before.

Hungary will not give the green light to Ukraine joining NATO until the dispute over the language law is resolved, he said in response to another question.

When asked by Gulyás, he said that while there are more traffic jams, homeless people and garbage in Budapest, there is more communication. It would be good if the mayor also dealt with these problems, he added.

We don't want a United States of Europe - said Gulyás when asked. Many important questions will arise about the future of the union, he added.

Regarding illegal migration, Gulyás said that they will protect the border with all their might.

The task of the vaccinators is to organize that someone receives the second AstraZeneca vaccine sooner than the date prescribed for the second vaccination 12 weeks later, and by definition the affected parties must indicate this, Gulyás said in response to another question.

In the midst of a pandemic, it is difficult to say what else will come, but he hopes that normal life can return by summer, Gulyás said in response to another question.

In response to a question, Gulyás said that the vaccination of foreigners starts after registration, and they will also have the opportunity to book an appointment.

The return to the normal functioning of the healthcare sector has begun, the screening tests have started, said Gulyás in response to another question. The length of waiting lists is being reduced. Effective surgeries will be restarted for 4.5 million vaccinees, rehabilitation will also restart for 5 million vaccinees, and the ban on visits will end, he added. In parallel with all of this, there will also be facilitations in the event of the release of capacities.
