From the middle of June, the fantastically renovated Rákóczi castle in Bors, II. Home of Ferenc Rákóczi. Visitors are welcomed with a number of unique attractions. In addition to an escape room, exhibitions and virtual walks reminiscent of the past, you can even stay in the prince's castle!
The conversation with László Diószegi, the president of the Teleki László Foundation, reveals, among other things, that the castle enjoyed its heyday during the time of Zsuzsa Lorántffy. After the failed war of independence, the decaying period of the castle began. Many of its wings have collapsed over the centuries.
The castle, located on the Slovakian side of Bodrogköz, is only three to four kilometers from Sátoraljaújhely. In 2013, the two presidents of the republic, Ivan Gašparovič and János Áder, agreed to renovate the Rákóczi castle in Slovakia.
The works started in 2018 and have now been completed.
