The government is launching a new support program to increase competitiveness in the amount of HUF 30 billion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade announced on his Facebook page yesterday.
Péter Szijjártó stated that Hungarian companies are given support for investments that relate to increasing productivity and with which the companies modernize their activities. Among the industries, he cited battery and pharmaceutical production, medical device production, and the food industry as examples.
The minister said that companies that invest at least 2 million euros can submit an application. Depending on the development level of the counties, they can receive 20 or 33 percent support.
Based on the decision of the European Commission, a company can receive a maximum of EUR 1.8 million in support. Companies applying now must commit not to lay off anyone, but to increase their workers' wages
