The latest signal from Szilárd Suhajda's satellite tracker was received on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Nepalese time, and since then there has been no news about the Hungarian mountaineer who set out to conquer Mount Everest, the Mozgásvilág climbing news Facebook page Hóhatár, which helps communicate the mission, said on Thursday night.

In the post, which Suhajda Szilárd's own Facebook page, it was written that the climber's satellite follower worked with large gaps during the summit attack. “It was last reported at 19:30 Nepal time at 8,795 meters at Hillary Steps and moving upwards. This is at a level of 50 meters from the summit, but in some cases it can be a climb of several hours. His transponder has not sent any more signals since then, and he has not reported in any other way," they wrote.

They also point out that missing the tracker is not an unusual phenomenon, during last year's Lhoce climb, no one knew where the climber was going for two days. "We start from the assumption that because we don't see the data of his tracker, he is still slowly descending down the mountain. We have no information about why the beacon is not working and we do not want to speculate," they wrote.

At the same time, the Facebook post also mentions that the climber "was very late at a very high altitude and has been on the road for a long time" compared to usual. "Nevertheless, we trust that he made his decision to the best of his ability and will return safely, giving the best of his abilities . As written, two Sherpas were asked to go up to Szilárd Suhajda to camp 4, so that when he hopefully gets there in the morning, they can wait for him with liquid. "This is not a rescue operation. In parallel, we contacted several agencies to see who we can still count on for information or even help," the post says.

As part of the Kyocera Everest Expedition 2023, Szilárd Suhajda's goal is to reach the 8,848-meter summit of Mount Everest "cleanly", that is, without using burdens and artificial oxygen. A Hungarian citizen has not yet succeeded in this way - the expedition previously told MTI.
